The Grand was built in 1906 as a ‘palace of business’ for one of the most powerful railway companies in Edwardian England.
It was the Golden Age of travel, when no expense was spared in the pursuit of luxury, so it will come
as no surprise that The Grand boasts some of the finest meeting rooms in Yorkshire. The magnificent Grand Boardroom and adjoining Chairman’s Suite offer historic settings for your meetings and fabulous views of the York Minster and City Wall.
A further series of immaculate meeting rooms provide a range of options for smaller gatherings,
and each features plasma screens, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning. For larger events the striking and
beautifully appointed Ruinart Terrace can accommodate a marquee for up to 220 guests.
At The Grand, we believe that experience is everything. It’s why we fully service rooms during lunch adding a new wow for the afternoon, and it’s why we serve every table at the same time at events and private dinners.
The details matter, so we ensure the room is set up exactly right first time. Bespoke menu and place cards are created for every event, and our staff deliver immaculate white jacket service at banquets.
Our dedicated conference team will work with you before, during and after your event, meeting or conference to make sure we achieve exactly the outcome you desire. Read some testimonials to see just how good a Grand event can be.
