Gorgeous hotel with friendly, efficient staff...
excellent weekend break here with first class service and attention from the moment we walked in the door. The quality of rooms etc is to be expected in a 5 star hotel but what sets this hotel apart is the staff and their genuine friendly manner. Delicious breakfast with great choice. we did not eat in the hotel in the evening but can only assume up to the same high standard as everything else. Cannot wait to go and stay again.

Short city break
Stayed overnight with my husband for a short city break away. Upon arrival the valet came to park our car for us and brought in our cases, we booked a double classic and were upgraded to the executive suit no charge.
Friendly and very helpful staff. Room was out of this world and exceptionally clean, complementary drinks sent so our room on arrival. Fantastic room with Molton brown products in bathroom, even had our bed turned down with a lip balm placed on my pillow.
Personal touches throughout our stay we felt like royalty. Would stay again and again and would recommend this hotel over and over. Could not recommend highly enough.... Should be six stars.
Thank you so much for a truly magical and enjoyable get away. Will definitely be coming back again.

Excellent service from start to finish
Filled in online contact form to ask some questions and was emailed answers within 5 minutes - 5 stars.
Rang up the night before our stay to confirm booking and found the room had been upgraded - 5 stars.
On arrival everyone very welcoming and car valet parked without any fuss. - 5 stars.
Concierge took our bags, showed us to our excellent room and explained how everything worked as well as suggesting a restaurant as we were not eating in the hotel - 5 stars.
We forgot something in our car after it was parked and Concierge went and fetched it for us - 5 stars.
Hand written card congratulating us on our anniversary in the room with complimentary crisps, drinks and fruit! - 5 stars.
Missed turndown due to getting ready but when we returned it had been done - 5 stars.
Great nights sleep in excellent bed and very quiet room - 5 stars.
Check out and collection of car very efficient. - 5 stars.
Think you get the picture by now! Excellent 5 star hotel, worth the money and would happily stop again.

First class all the way
Our recent stay stay of four nights at Cedar Court was a highlight. very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Recently refurbished and interesting building. Do not miss the ceiling rose on the second floor landing. Food great including room service. Room sublime. Location perfect, out of the main street chaos, across the street from the station and railway museum. Close to perfect, old style service with style.

Only stopped for a Coffee but love this hotel!
My partner and I were in York and wanted a coffee but somewhere nice and walked into the hotel. We were welcomed at the door by a fantasic door man that walked us into the hotel and showed us were to go.
The reception is stunning and very professional, we walked to the tea room area near The Grill and it was stunning. We sat down and we were welcomed again by a young girl who showed a very high standard of service and took our order.
The coffee and service were 2nd to none and was 100% faultless (and i'm a hard to please).
I was expecting a massive bill as normaly hotels of this standard charge massive amounts for light refreshments, but was cheaper than a trip to starbucks.
I think the hotel and staff should be very proud of the level of service they provide.
